MONOCHROMATIC

Skirt - Suzy Shier
Tank - Winners
Sweater - Urban Behaviour

Often I find my self drawn to black and white.  So this monochromatic outfit is one that really appeals to me.  I feel like the stripes and leather add a little edge to the otherwise boring colours in the outfit.
Also, the boyfriend and I celebrated our 6th year anniversary last week!  I just have to get through two day shifts and one night shift and then we are headed to Whistler for some R&R.  So far our plans include staying at the Hilton in the village for two nights, yummy dinners, fun drinks and a visit to the spa!  SO excited!

STAY WITH ME

Normally, I try to keep my blog fashion focused but I recently stumbled across these at the drugstore, feel in love with them, and I couldn't help sharing my new find!

The discovery started when I set out to my local Shoppers Drugmart to find a replacement for my favorite go-to lipgloss that I had run out of.  I took a risk and bought these inexpensive ones from a brand I was not familiar with.  They only cost $2.99 each so I figured that if I hated them, it wasn't a huge loss.  However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the quality of them!

They are called Essence 'Stay with me' long lasting lipgloss.  The colours I chose are Deep Rose, My Favorite Milkshake and Me&My Ice cream.  All fairly neutral, pretty pinks.  I really love everything about this product, especially for the price!  The packaging itself is a heavy duty, solid plastic that really makes them durable and expensive feeling.  The applicator is one I've never seen before.  Its kind of a figure 8 shape that molds perfectly to the shape of your lip.  They also smell delicious - kind of fruity (although when they are on the lips they taste/smell a little more perfum-y) and they really do last a really long time without being super sticky and goopy!

So, for all you fellow Canadians with a Shoppers Drugmart near to you, I highly recommend you go out and give these a shot!

New in

Jeans - Levi's
T-shirt - Joe Fresh
Bag - Payless shoes

For the most part, I would consider myself to be pretty loyal to the purses that I carry.  I tend to buy purses that are pretty neutral in style and colour and use it for months on end until I switch it out for a new one.  I just can't be bothered to switch all my stuff into another purse everyday.

I unexpectedly found this one at Payless Shoes the other day.  Its neutral colours and basic shape will work perfectly with my summer outfits for the next while.  It also happens to have plenty of space to carry all my summer gear (there is even room for my shoes in case I'm in the mood to run barefoot! haha).  So get ready to see a lot of this little guy in up coming posts.

Readers, meet Purse.  Purse, meet readers.

A little trick I do

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I am one of those people that struggles with the dreaded falling pants syndrome.  I often feel like I spend half my day hiking my pants up!

So, I few years ago I came up with this little trick that keeps me from going crazy all day long.  Of course I could have all my pants altered BUT I have a lot of pants and I just couldn't be bothered with the time and money it would cost me.
All I do is use a hair elastic to loop through a belt loop and attach it to the button.  (just as a sidenote: I would use an elastic that is close in colour to the pants I am wearing but for the purpose of the pictures, I did the opposite.  And I only do this with my pants when my top is long enough to cover the elastic).

You could also do the reverse of this for a growing belly (ie. if you are preggers or having been eating too many pies!) by leaving your top button open and attaching the elastic to the button to hold your pants up!

Give it a try with those dreaded falling pants!
