SPRING MAXI AND A VIDEO

Top - Brandy Melville
Dress (worn as skirt) - Sirens
Belt - Vintage
Watch - Michael Kors

Funny story about this top. When I first brought it home a few weeks ago, I was explaining to the boyfriend that most of brandy melville clothing is one size fits all. He thought that was crazy, and I proceeded to show him how stretchy the fabric was. Fast forward a few hours, he comes out of the bedroom wearing the dang thing!! Impressed with the stretch of the shirt, he stated he was ready to head out to dinner, thinking he was pretty funny. I actually yelped when I first saw him wearing it. Despite its one size fits all claim, he is quite a bit large than I am and I was worried he was going to stretch it! Thankfully, it bounced right back to its original shape. So, it really is one size fits all!!

LOREAL INFALLIBLE LIPSTICK AND VIDEO

I have been a fan of these lipsticks for many, many years now. If you have seen ads, you would know that they are intended to last several hours on your lips. I have to say, they have come through on that promise! I won't say they last ALL day long (especially through eating and drinking) but they definitely last longer than your average lipstick.

My favourite of all time is #112. This is what I am wearing on my lips 95% of the time. It is a perfect natural pink that works for any occasion, I love it!

I should say that they do dry a little tacky on the lips but, I think that is to be expected with any long wear lipstick. Also, they won't last nearly as long if you add any kind of oil base product on top, a gloss, for example. Despite the slight sticky/tacky feeling they leave, they are are must have in my books!

Have you tried them? Do you like them?

COMFY CAMO AND TACOS

Shorts - Vintage
Top - Vintage (boys section)
Necklace - Ardene's
Flats - Joe Fresh

A few weeks ago, I was watching "Diners, Drive in's and Dives" in which they featured a little taco shop located here in Vancouver (they have actually been featuring quite a few Vancouver based restaurants recently, my "to-try" list is getting long!).

With the beautiful weather we were having early last weekend, we decided to take advantage of it by hoping on our bikes and setting out on an adventure to try Le Taqueria. It was a tiny place with an awesome vibe and tasty, tasty tacos! Unfortunately, they were out of the fish tacos by the time we got there so we have already planned to go back sometime soon!

GRAPHIC TANK

Tank - Brandy Melville (recent)
Sweater - Vintage
Jeans - Levis
Shoes - Aldo
Sunglasses - Raybans (small lenses)

It was only in the last month that I realized that we had a Brandy Melville here in Vancouver.  I don't know if it is new or if I was just out of the loop all this time.  Either way, I'm so glad I've found it now! I see items from Brandy's on blogs and youtube all the time and have always been jealous of everything!

Here's to spending far too much money on a newly discovered shop! WOOHOO!

Where is your favourite place to shop? Are you an online shopper or an in person shopper?

I am definitely NOT an online shopper...it never seems to turn out well for me...

CASUAL LEATHER SKIRT

 Jacket - Aritzia
Shirt - Suzy Shier
Top - Joe Fresh
Shoes - Keds
Bag - Vintage

Have to admit, this is not one of my favourite outfits.  It's just too basic and stream lined for my liking.  Not that a leather skirt and stripped shirt is something that you see everyone wearing, but to me, it is on the plain side of my style.   Nevertheless, it did the trick for a quick coffee visit with the boyfriend while he was at work downtown.

A GOOD LUNCH HOUR READ ON BODY IMAGE

Picture LINK

I dont't normally include these kinds of things on my blog, but this article really sparked my interest.

One of my close friends is starting up a series of workshops for young girls that is designed to help them refocus their idea of the "perfect body". Because of this, my whole circle of friends have had our eyes opened to these types of articles and advertisements out there. I found this one particularly interesting because it's a real bare bones story of body image.

At 25 years old, I am certainly a lot more confident about myself than I was in high school, but at the same time, I still look in the mirror and poke and pull on my "fat" and "jiggly arms" when really, I am no where near over weight. I am 5'5, 124lbs (of which is a lot of muscle in my legs), I eat right (most of the time) and workout on a regular basis. How could I think that need to lose weight?! Or that my thighs are too big?! Half the time girls and women are looking at each other wishing they had the others body, and that their own will never be good enough. It's sad, really.....

Especially as a nurse, who is educated in what our bodies need to maintain proper health, it is important for me to plant my feet on the ground, shake my head when I see a distorted image in the mirror, and realize that strong IS the new skinny. This article really helped me do that.

Enjoy the read! I'm off to the gym :)

LITTLE WHITE LACE DRESS

 Dress - H & M (recent)
Boots - Joe Fresh
Leather Jacket - Suzy Shier

Last weekend the boyfriend and I headed up to Whistler for one night. They extended their ski season this year, so the boyfriend wanted to take advantage and hit the slopes one last time for the year. I'm no snow bunny, but I very much enjoy being in the village and going out to dinner. We had great weather, I was plenty warm in just my dress on the patio (especially after a new margaritas!).

I fell in love when I saw this dress at H & M last week and new it was coming home with me when I saw it's $30 price tag (I'm still debating getting the black one as well). I don't always gravitate to such girly pieces but my boyfriend much prefers when I wear what he calls "normal" clothes. AKA not cutoffs, graphic t's, ect. So I thought I would be a good little girlfriend and wear something that he would like. I'm happy to report he loved it! Success!

HIGH WAIST WHITE SHORTS

Shorts - Vintage
Tank- Sirens
Leather Jacket - Suzy Shier
Shoes - Aldo
Bag - Vintage
Necklace - Forever21
Rings - Made in Mexico

If you follow me on Instagram (aandreaclare), you might already know that I had an interview last week.  Not a new job, just a new location.  I'm still a nurse! I think it went alright.  I was so nervous that I honestly don't remember what I said.  Fingers crossed all my references come back good and I'll be starting a new and exciting adventure in the near future.

When I got home, I changed into this outfit, pulled out my pony tail, curled my hair and headed downtown to meet the boyfriend to celebrate with a few drinks and burgers.  It was a perfect patio day - bright and sunny (and lots of people watching!)! Overall, it was a pretty successful day!

BOYFRIEND PLAID

Shirt - My boyfriends closet (Abercrombie and Fitch)
Leather Skirt - Suzy Shier
T-shirt - Joe Fresh
Boots - Joe Fresh Bag - Vintage

I have a jam packed closet yet every so often, I prefer to wear my boyfriends clothes. The day I wore this outfit I literally tried on about 10 of my own button up shirts.  But I liked the super over-sized and chunky look of this one much better.  When mixed with my short leather skirt, a sloughy t-shirt and cropped books it makes the perfect semi-grunge outfit.

Luckily, I have a very generous boyfriend, so he doesn't mind me digging through his closet ever so often.

MY CAMO PANTS

IMG_4464IMG_4485IMG_4470IMG_4479IMG_4475Pants - Gap
Tank - Joe Fresh
Sweater - Joe Fresh
Shoes - Aldo
Bag - Vintage
Sunglasses - Raybans

Camo pants are certainly not for everyone but I love the interest and textured look they give to an outfit.  But if your not in to the full on camo pant, try it in small doses.  A scarf, tank, or shoe added to a rather plain outfit can completely change your outfit game.  I also really like the grey on grey I have going on in this outfit.  I originally had on a different tank that was similar in colour to the sweater that left the outfit feeling rather flat.  So, I swapped it out for a tank that was a slightly different shade of grey and I think it looks much better.  What do you think?! I'd love to know!
