FRINGE PURSE

Purse - H&M
Top - H&M
Bralette - Forever21 (Similar)
Shoes - Aldo (Similar HERE and HERE)
Sunglasses - Forever 21

I know a fringe bag is kind of a statement piece but I swear I've been wearing it with everything. Because of its neutral colour, it just seems to add the perfect amount of interest to so many outfits.

I've had numerous compliments on it while walking down the street. I guess it's sort of hard not to notice a big fringe bag swishing down the street, haha!

I've shopped a few similar bags and linked them all down below if you looking to add some fringe to your life!

VANCOUVER FASHION WEEK - PART I

A peek inside my fashion week purse (see below for links)

With my new Aussie friend @interlacedmedia

Selfie with @jessicaluxe and @fcysnerios

Fashion week has come and gone here in Vancouver.  Wow, is it fun, but holy smokes was I tired at the end of all of it - and I didn't even attend all the days!  Since I work Monday to Friday I actually had to plan outfits/hair/makeup the night before, pack it all up and get ready in the hospital washroom after work in order to make it to the first shows on time.  Such a whirl wind.

Fashion week is such a cool experience.  It's a chance to wear things you might not usually wear, express your style and find inspiration in those who love fashion as much as you do.  Everyone attuning is dressed to the nines.  I couldn't help but people watch and maybe stare a little too much...Everything down to the music and lighting was so inspiring.

Thanks to fashion week rep Jennifer for the tickets!  I had such an amazing time meeting really cool people and rediscovering my love for funky fashion!

Stay tuned for part II later this week!

THE BRALETTE

Photo via Pinterest

They are that sexy little secret under your everyday clothes. Even when no one else knows it's there, a cute under garment helps a lady hold her head high and pull her shoulders back.

In recent seasons, the bralette has been worn as part of an outfit.  Although showing my undergarments isn't something I would normally  do,  I think a peek of lace through a top can be a very cool addition to an outfit....when it's done right. Often I choose to sport the trend by having the bralette peek through a sheer top or out the top of a low cut top (seen here).  But to be honest,  I feel like I can only pull this off because I have a small chest.  Had I been blessed with a fuller chest (my sister got all the boob in the family),  I think the trend would just feel too revealing.

Two of my favourites (seen here) are inexpensive options from Forever 21.  They are delicate and detailed but offer enough coverage to conceal my actual bra underneath.  They are certainly something I reach for often.

Below I've shopped around to find a few of my favourites from around the web in a variety of price points.  THIS one from NastyGal is my all time fav!

Which is your favourite?

This was an outfit I wore out for dinner with Ken one night before he had left for London.  We had heard amazing things about this pizza parlour so we thought we would give it a try as one of our last dinners in Vancouver.  Well, the reviews were right! It was delicious! The bruschetta in particular was finger-lickin' good.

If your in Vancouver, give it a try!

Bralette - Forever21

Overalls are one of those pieces that make life easy.  Much like a dress, you can just throw it on and BAM - instant outfit.  I fell in love with this one when I spotted it at Value Village over the summer.  I'd never seen corduroy overalls that had this low cut front and cute little pockets in the front.  Certainly a one of a kind vintage fine.

I've sought out a few options from around the web that I love just as much.  I Especially love THESE high waisted flared ones for fall. They make the perfect sexy, retro outfit. You know, if your the type of person that can kind overalls sexy, haha.

This outfit kind of happened by accident.  I was originally wearing just the tee and skirt but thought I might need something over my shoulders for our walk along the seawall.  I grabbed the first thing with sleeves that I saw in my closet and headed out the door.  Something about the preppy tee and the feminine lace that I really liked. I also really liked that the lace kimono was a slightly different shade of white from the tee.  Worked perfectly for our stroll through the village.

I do apologize for my recent disappearance from the blog.  I recently moved (again!) and my boyfriend has officially headed for London to do his Masters.  For years we talked about him going abroad for school, and it is so crazy that it has actually happening now.  Although it is going to be incredibly hard living apart for so long, I know that we will both be happy with the decision in the future.  Thank goodness for Skype!

So, with all these big changes happening, the blog has been pushed to the sidelines.  The dust is finally starting to settle and I'm beginning to feel a little more organized, so things should resume in the near future! Hold tight! With a whole new room to decorate - I'm feeling motivated and inspired all over again. So I have lots of ideas for new posts coming soon!
