For years I wore nothing but Mac powdered foundation. It always did the trick and I really had nothing against it. But like girls do, I had a hankering to try something new. So, a few years ago, I made the switch to liquid foundation. I started out with the Revlon Photoready foundation and I loved it until I realized that it had tiny little sparkles in the formula! It drove me nuts! I couldn't get the stuff out of my makeup brushes!
So after hearing Samantha Schuerman rave about the L'oreal infallible foundation, I had to give it a shot. It had to be better than my sparkle face foundation I was using, right?
My skin is sensitive and combination (both dry and oily). I don't break out often, but when I do, it's often because I've changed a product in my routine. Luckily, this foundations formula was perfect for my skin type. It's a medium to full coverage and that my sensitive skin agreed with (yay no breakouts!)! It leaves me with a smooth, demi-matte finish that keeps me from looking greasy while maintaining a natural healthy glow. It's really easy to blend in, and isn't difficult to work with at all. Overall, it's a very well rounded foundation that I think would be suitable for most skin types.
However, the colour selection wasn't great. I ended up picking shade 102 after a few trial and error picks. The shades lighter than 102, I found to be very grey and the darker shades were quite orange. The 102 is definitely the perfect colour for me.
I also found that it did last well throughout the day (although I wouldn't necessarily say it lasts 24 hours, as it suggests). Even on a hustle and bustle kind of day, it held up pretty well. I actually took these pictures at the end of the day (approximately 6 to 7 hours after application and no touch ups) just to show how it holds up on an average day. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this drugstore foundation, to say the least! I haven't looked back since!
Have you tried it?! What did you think?
