For years I wore nothing but Mac powdered foundation. It always did the trick and I really had nothing against it.  But like girls do, I had a hankering to try something new.  So, a few years ago, I made the switch to liquid foundation. I started out with the Revlon Photoready foundation and I loved it until I realized that it had tiny little sparkles in the formula!  It drove me nuts! I couldn't get the stuff out of my makeup brushes!

So after hearing Samantha Schuerman rave about the L'oreal infallible foundation, I had to give it a shot. It had to be better than my sparkle face foundation I was using, right?

My skin is sensitive and combination (both dry and oily).  I don't break out often, but when I do, it's often because I've changed a product in my routine. Luckily, this foundations formula was perfect for my skin type.  It's a medium to full coverage and that my sensitive skin agreed with (yay no breakouts!)! It leaves me with a smooth, demi-matte finish that keeps me from looking greasy while maintaining a natural healthy glow. It's really easy to blend in, and isn't difficult to work with at all.  Overall, it's a very well rounded foundation that I think would be suitable for most skin types.

However, the colour selection wasn't great.  I ended up picking shade 102 after a few trial and error picks. The shades lighter than 102, I found to be very grey and the darker shades were quite orange.  The 102 is definitely the perfect colour for me.

I also found that it did last well throughout the day (although I wouldn't necessarily say it lasts 24 hours, as it suggests). Even on a hustle and bustle kind of day, it held up pretty well.  I actually took these pictures at the end of the day (approximately 6 to 7 hours after application and no touch ups) just to show how it holds up on an average day. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this drugstore foundation, to say the least! I haven't looked back since!

Have you tried it?! What did you think?

Few weeks ago, Courtney Boutique generously invited me out to their boutique to shop till I dropped! And oh boy, did I.  I went home with a huge bag full off goodies I love. Including both the dress and romper seen in the pictures.  The burnt orange romper isn't something I would typically reach for, but I really loved the colour on my pale (and pasty!) skin, haha.

I had such a great time with the girls who run the shop. We spent the afternoon trying on a ton of outfits, covering ourselves in temporary tattoos and snapping a few pictures by the water as the sunset.  I was a perfect way to spend the start of all this warm weather we are having here in Vancouver.

Thanks again to Courtney Boutique!

I felt like a rock and roll version of Julia Roberts in Pretty women in this outfit.(after her make over, of course!)  The midi length dress that hits right below the knee is so lady-like, and the belt at the waist creates a classic hour glass figure. All good things. I added the leather jacket and embellished belt to give the outfit a bit of an edge.  More often than not, I will add an edgy piece to an outfit that otherwise feels very girly.  I just feel so much more "styled" in a mix of hard and soft.

Ps. That's Bella with me in the random shot! We were pup sitting her while her parents were away in Mexico.  She's an english mastiff and is the sweetest thing you'd ever meet! Much sweeter than our little Chico, who's about 130lbs smaller! Haha

VLOG : A puppy contest and photo shoots!

Just a random day of vlogging.  I help mom enter Chico (the family pup) into a photo contest and then we hit the gym.  Later, we head to the grocery store for some cheese we needed for the dinner we were going to make.  In the evening, I drive out to Vancouver for a little photo shoot with a local boutique. We put on flash tattoo and headed to the beach for a few shots!

Happy Saturday!

Entire outfit from Hunni's Urban Boutique

After shooting our first look (See my first post with Hunni's HERE) the Hunni's girls and I decided to take a quick coffee break at this very "Instagram-able" coffee shop called Black Smith Bakery. The aesthetic of this place was right up my alley.  Mainly white, black details, chalk boards and old fashion print on everything.  It was gorgeous. So naturally, I had to include a few pictures I took while we sipped our coffee and inhaled a few treats.

These shorts were another one of the pieces that I knew I wanted to sport in the shoot.  Florals aren't typically a print I would reach for, but I knew the colour would look amazing with a tan in the summer and the tassel trim gives the outfit the perfect amount of funk.  They are also SUPER comfy (always a plus!) and sit high on the waist, which is something I always look for.  I'd certainly wear them to the beach over my bikini when I travel to Italy this summer!

Thanks again to Hunni's Urban Boutique and Refresh Market for this collaboration.

FESTIVAL KIMONO WITH HUNNI'S BOUTIQUE

Entire outfit from Hunni's Urban Boutique

On Sunday, I was kindly invited by Refresh Market and Hunni's Urban Boutique to come style a few outfits for a little photo shoot around Fort Langley.  I had so much fun exploring the little town so close to were I grew up!  I had no idea how cute the area was and how many spots we would have to shoot! I'll certainly be heading back to a few of the coffee shops we spotted.

The store itself was full of festival and summer ready pieces.  I had a change room full of options and had a tough time narrowing it down.  This was the first of two outfits we shot.  The extreme oversize fit and the boho print of the kimono really caught my eye.  It's a fool proof outfit when paired with an all black base (like I did here!) or over a bikini on the beach this summer!

Thanks again to Hunni's and Refresh Market for the invite!
