I saw this recipe on an episode of The Chew last week. It took them minutes to whip up and looked so delicious! So I decided to give it a shot and it turned out finger lickin’ good. It took everything in me to save some for the boyfriend and not eat the whole thing to myself. And the best part is that it is so flexible, you can put anything you want in it!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Pizza dough (homemade or store bought)
A protein of your choice
Vegetables you like
Oil to saute veggies
Mozzarella cheese (as much as you like)
Pasta Sauce
Salt and pepper
Prepare a pizza dough. I used quick rising yeast and whole wheat flour for mine. Spread it out on your baking sheeting in an oblong shape.
Brown your meat. I used a spicy Italian sausage and removed the meat from its casing. I like to let the meat become extra brown, almost burnt. I just like the flavor better.
Saute your veggies of choice. I used broccoli, yellow and orange bell peppers, onion and garlic. Season to taste.
Spread out a generous layer of spaghetti sauce and add your meat, veggies and cheese on top. Sprinkle with Parmesan.
Roll it up and lay it seam side down. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake in 450 degree oven for 10-15 minutes or until golden.
Slice and enjoy!
