Outside of my blogging life, my real life is actually quite opposite to the (at times) materialistic ways of my blog. To pay the bills, I work as a registered nurse fulltime at a hospital near to my home. I love my job, although there are certainly days that I want to break down and never go back. So, as a nurse in the thick of the healthcare system I see the need for blood donations on a day to day basis. I recently went to donate and wanted to spread the word on how easy it is to do here on my blog!
Honestly, it only takes about 45 minutes of your time and you feel great knowing that you have made a difference to someone (and trust me, I have given many blood transfusions to patients and they are like new people once they have received that blood, not to mention people that need it in life threatening situations!).
And if your still not convinced, you might be glad to know that donating is equivalent to burning 700 calories! So you can skip the gym that day! AND you get cookies and juice once you are done! Not bad, right?
Google Blood services in your area to make an appointment and bring some good karma your way!
Xo, Andrea
I have O negative blood and started donating this year! 🙂
Really?!? That's so cool! My blood type isn't very rare but any blood is good blood!
