I don’t know if it’s just me that can tell, but I definitely have some work to do in the diet and fitness department. Hence the big shapeless blouse I am wearing.
Before we had left for our trip, I estimated (half as a joke) that I would gain 7 pounds while away. Well, I can report that I was almost right! I gained about 6 pounds, despite walked miles and miles everyday while there (we walked each city and didn’t take public transport once). But HOLY SMOKES – 6 pounds is a lot for little ol’ 5’5 me! Normally, I try my best to watch what I eat, and I do my best to get tons and veggies and protein at each meal. However, on the trip, I just let myself have whatever I wanted….for 18 days straight. If I wanted Tiramisu with breakfast, I got it and didn’t think twice. While it was definitely a lot of fun (and tasty!) to eat that way, it certainly took a toll. Now, I’m back in the real world and have to get my butt back in gear.
Also, my body is SO not used to working out or being put through any kind of strain anymore. Yesterday was a beautiful day out, so I opted to skip the gym and chose to run the stairs near by our house instead. Before I even had a chance to move in bed this morning, I knew I had done something bad, haha. I am still so sore. Long story short….I have some serious work to do.
If you have any healthy, easy and tasty snack suggestions, I would love to hear them! I am the type of person that loves to eat and snack all day long, so it’s always a challenge to keep away from the cookies, chocolate, cheese and everything else delicious!
Wish me luck! I’ll need it! I have a serious addiction to sugar (which
only intensified over the trip) that I need kick…. and quick!
