Wow, it’s been while since I’ve made an appearance here. It almost seems foreign!
Well, to start off, we are back home in Vancouver! We landed 2 weeks ago and have been on the move non-stop ever since. The first few days were spent jet lagged on the couch at my mom’s house. Once I was able to peel myself off the couch, we jumped straight into organising our travel visas. We finally got all that sent off last week so fingers crossed it goes well.
Besides keeping busy with paper work for our visas, we’ve also been racing all over town attempting to plan the majority of our wedding while here in Vancouver. The wedding is to take place in the summer of 2017 but since we are planning to travel as much as we can over the summer, we are trying to get all the big decisions out of the way. If you follow on snapchat (aandreaclare), you would have seen me visit about 10 dress stores all over the lower mainland already. Luckily, we booked an air b&b in Gastown last week, which made it really easy to visit many on foot.
Once we left our downtown Air B&B, we crashed at my mom’s house for a single night to unpack, re-pack, and do some laundry before heading back out the door the next day. As I sat on the floor completely surrounded with laundry and suitcases, my sister said “do you guys ever stop?!? I’m exhausted watching you!” haha.
The next afternoon, we had a wedding venue walk through (which went really well!). From there, we hit the road again and made the quick and beautiful drive up the Sea to Sky highway to Whistler. We were buzzing with excitement the whole way because the venue we toured was beyond dreamy. Between the blue skies, wedding excitement and joy of being home – life couldn’t be any better. We took these photos at the look out point along the highway. We have both made this drive dozens of times but it still takes my breathe away, especially with the weather we are experiencing right now.
With two weeks at home under our belt, I think we’ve managed to get a lot done! I’ve found a dress I love (now, it’s just process of elimination of the rest in Vancouver), we picked a wedding venue and filed our tourist visas! It’s been a busy few weeks (as you can probably tell from the lack of blog posts over here), but I’m super excited to see all our plans for the near future come together 🙂
