I like to think that I have a pretty good sense of direction.  Even if you spin me around blind folded a few times, I can usually tell you which way to head. It’s easy in Vancouver because as long as you can see the skyline of the mountains, you can redirect yourself pretty quickly.

Palma was another story. Even with both of us using google maps, we were lost pretty much the whole time. All the tiny streets seem to twist and curve without you realising it. I said to Ken that it reminded me of the scene from the movie Labrynth (one of my all time favourite movies) when the gremlins play tricks on the girl by changing signs and landmarks.  She ends up passing the same places multiple times, much like we did in Palma. We didn’t really mind because it’s a fun way to explore a new city and we didn’t have any reservations planned, so weren’t worried about being late for anything.

This white blouse was a piece I picked up at H&M ages ago thinking it would be a good staple to have in my closet. And boy is it ever. It’s kind of like a dressed up version of a plain white T shirt. I wear it with everything and almost always pack it when we are travelling. I was glad to have it on this trip because it ended up being much cooler than we thought. So long layers and denim jackets came in handy.

This picture actually wasn’t posed. I’m always convinced that there are snakes in any kind of long grass, so I was checking to make sure nothing was going to get me, haha. Especially with open sandals on, I was extra nervous! I was completely exposed! I know, snakes in the city….not likely…but the irrational fear is still there. I’m sure Ken was yelling at me “Andi! There are no snakes here! Lets takes the photo and go!” He knows exactly what I was thinking when I was looking down at my feet in the grass. EEK!

sangria in the city

After a full day of gelato and wandering, we sat down at a little out door bar. There are tons of them all over the city but we picked this one because the sangria looked delicious. Nothing like a sangria and olive appetizer before heading to dinner.
