Once and a while I do a “Favourites” video on my youtube channel but often I find it so hard not making it a 15 minute video of things I love! So I thought I’d set my self a number and cap it off at 5 here on the blog. So, here we go, rounding up 5 things I’ve been loving lately…
1. Gingham
I know I’m a little out of season here (it feels like it became fall over night here!) but I still holding onto summer and soaking up every last bit of the heat. Summer feelings makes me crave gingham. I went a little gingham crazy with off the shoulder dresses, mini dresses, rompers and bikinis all summer long. I love them in all shapes a colours and I’ll be wearing them as long as the weather holds out!

2. Cliniderm SPF
This is one of the products that I feel I need to scream about from the roof tops! I discovered it when I need an SPF to take with me to my bachelorette party in Las Vegas (See photos from that here, here and here). I wanted something that I could put on in the morning under some light “pool day” makeup that wouldn’t make me greasy, breakout or look heavy. I also didn’t want a spray. Had to be a lotion.
I found this at my local Shoppers drug mart and it worked miracles! I went on super smooth, dried on the skin in seconds and felt like I had nothing on at all. I put it on once in the morning, applied my daytime makeup and then was even able to salvage my day makeup into evening makeup most days. I love it! Plus it provides SPF 45 – which is pretty darn good. If you don’t already have a good SPF in your makeup, you should consider adding this to your repertoire!
This one has been in my daily makeup routine for months now. Specifically the blush from this contour palatte. I originally bought it because I was looking to branch out my bronzer collection. The bronzer didn’t work out for me, but the I’ve become obsessed with the blush! It’s the perfect soft petal pink that would work with most skin tones. It does have a little bit of shimmer to it, but I don’t find it to be chunky or disco ball sparkly. It just gives a bit of a glow versus a matte finish which I always find to be more flattering on the skin. I also really like the highlighter in this palatte but I find I reach for my Champagne Pop much more.
As much as I loved my classic Black Nikes (See here), those old gals were getting old and tired. In fact, my toes were starting to break through the mesh. Ek! So the hunt for a new pair of gym comfy shoes but still stylish enough to wear with outfits began. I really thought I was going to end up with this pair or this pair but when I had trouble actually getting my hands on them to see if I liked the fit, I popped into Aldo to see their options. I instantly fell in love with the colour of these ones. They are kind of a cement grey/beige colour that is so neutral that they go with everything! They are also SUPER comfy (that walking on marshmallows kind of feeling) and have a elongated shape to them which is always super flattering. I really tempted to get the pink version now…

5. Aussie 3 Minute Miracle
Another item that I’ve had in my cupboard for years and years and just recently brought it back out again. As a blonde, I have to tone my hair with an intense purple shampoo about once a week (sometimes once every 2 weeks) and although it keeps my blonde from becoming yellow, it is very harsh and drying. Enter the 3 minute miracle! This stuff I slather all over the lower 2/3 of my hair in the shower, put it into a low bun and let it work its magic for a few minutes. It leaves my hair so super silky its crazy! And the best part is that it cost just a few bucks! No harm in giving it a shot!
If you’re more of a video person, I also filmed a short video going through each item. Just click the play button below to see the whole thing! You can also subscribe to my youtube channel HERE to make sure you don’t miss any future videos 🙂
