My oh my! It’s been VERY quiet over here and on social media in general. SORRY! I really didn’t mean to disappear for so long but my brain has been at max capacity lately. Ken and I have been working on making something happen for months now and now that things are wrapping up, we can’t wait to share! I’m so excited to tell you what we’ve been up to and when I do, you’ll understand why I disappeared from the blog/youtube world for a while there. So long story short – I’m sorry! But you’ll understand why VERY soon!
Since I haven’t been keeping up with my over sharing here on the blog and Instagram, I thought I’d put together a little update post of a few things that have changed over the last few weeks.
First off – My hair! I’ve grown out my bangs (they were driving me crazy and were too much work – Tata bangs!) and I had my highlights done yesterday too. It was long over due since I hadn’t been to see my hairdresser since before the wedding! The roots were out of control. I went for a very natural soft blonde so that my roots aren’t too noticeable. Because lets be honest, it’ll probably be another 6 months before I get back there. We also chopped off a few inches. Another hair note – I have been shedding like CRAZY! I’m talking clumps of hair that come out when I shower or brush it. It’s freakin’ me out! I think it’s stress related so I’m hoping once the dust settles, my hair will thicken up again.
This one is embarrassing to admit, but I only JUST printed physical copies of a few of our photos. Let me remind you – we were married in July – so thats 5 months with no printed photos – terrible! I am so in love with them but it was one of those things we just never got around to doing. At some point we want to have our favourites in a hard cover book, but at this rate, who knows when that’ll happen. Does anyone have any good companies to print from? I’ve heard you can do it through Apple, and another company called The Mix Book…..?
I sure am one lucky girl! Last week I purchased the Gucci Soho Disco handbag! I had a bunch of gift certificates to use up and had also worked an overtime shift to make it happen 🙂 I know it is a SUPER popular bag and really basic, but that’s what is great about it! It’s so simple and goes with everything – no flashy logos or prints – just simple and understated. It fits a ton of stuff in it and is really comfortable to wear. The leather is so smooth and really easy to get in and out of. So far, I love it 🙂
I attempted to take a few engagement photos of my best friend and her fiancé! I say attempted because this was back in mid November when we had almost nothing but rain for the whole month. We did our best to escape the rain to get a few shots but each time we hopped out of the car, the rain would pick up again. We eventually snapped these and a few others in the rain just so we didn’t come home empty handed. It wasn’t easy with the dark grey day and sideways rain (I was holding an umbrella over myself while snapping photos) but we tried!
I finally committed to a mirrorless camera! I stuck with the Fuji xt20 and have been loving it. Super easy to use, light weight and even pretty! Ken loves it too because its much easier to carry around, focuses and snaps a lot quicker than my DSLR. This makes it a lot easier to convince him to help me with photos every once and a while 🙂
We recently purchased the hyped up Away luggage. We went with the navy colour and purchased the carry on, medium and large size. So far they have only been on one trip but Ken loved it! I also love that they stack into one other for storage. The portable charger on the carry on is a pretty cool feature too.
I don’t know why but I’ve just recently come to the realization that I’m starting to look old! Especially in the last year or so, I’ve noticed a significant change in my skins texture and elasticity. I definitely need to start drinking more water but until I develop that habit – I’m going to test out as much skin care as my wallet can afford – haha. I recently started using this Vitamin C collagen serum by Quantum Hydrox at night. I just use the smallest amount under my nighttime moisturizer. I’ve only used it a few times so I can’t say I see any notable changed just yet. However, the lady at the counter said that this one is a high quality pure form of the vitamin which mean most of it is absorbed and put to get use. A lot of vitamin C products out there have fillers in them and therefore don’t absorb in the skin which means you aren’t getting your bang for your buck. This one was quite pricey but I’m hoping my skin will thank me for it 🙂
Another reason I’ve been so MIA lately. Ken has been on the road ALOT in the last month. In November he was in New York for a week. Then was home for a few days, then flew to Toronto, then back home long enough to sort out this big project I was mentioning earlier. This week he has been in London and might have to fly back to Toronto again next week! PHEW! Once I can tell you whats been going on behind the scenes, you’ll understand why all this travel has been mental.
If anyone is still out there reading and following, THANK YOU! I read and follow a lot of bloggers myself so I know how annoying it can be when there is nothing new and they just disappear. I’M SORRY! I’m terrible. But I promise it’ll all be worth it 🙂 Stay tuned – things are about to get really really good.
