OUR FRENCH APARTMENT – SNEAK PEEK

Time flies when your having fun! Ken and I have landed in France! I know it all probably seems very quick to you since we only let the cat out of the bag a few days before we were leaving, but to us, it felt like we’ve been waiting forever! It’s hard to imagine we’ve been in France more than a week already! Most of our journey has been shown on Instagram (@aandreaclare) already, but if you don’t follow there, I thought I’d share some pictures from around town and of our new apartment! I will certainly be doing a full tour and video on my youtube channel of the whole apartment at some point but for now, this should keep the nosey Nancy’s (like myself!) satisfied 🙂

As I mentioned in my last post HERE, we moved to the town of Fontainebleau because Ken is attending INSEAD to do his MBA.  The town is about an hour outside of Paris and is super cute. It’s actually bigger than we thought it was but still very small compared to the other big cities we’ve lived in. You can basically walk the whole thing in about 15 minutes! There are tons of restaurants, bars, little shops throughout the town and it seems to be fairly busy most of the time. They also have a great market 3 days a week that we are super excited to visit. 

I had to take the “first day of school” pictures – haha! We look like such nerds wearing our bright green lanyards but we didn’t care! We were so excited to get the official INSEAD name tags 🙂

After a long day of travelling from Paris with 5 suitcases and lugging all the suitcases down cobblestone streets, we finally made it to our new apartment in the evening. We dropped our bags, took a quick look around the new apartment and headed out to explore. We made a quick pit stop at a small grocery store around the corner from us to pick up some essential groceries and of course, champagne! The real stuff! One of the many perks of living in France 🙂

Now, for a little tour of the apartment! It’s a small place, about 650sq feet I would guess. It’s on two levels – almost loft style with a really funky (and scary tiny!) spiral staircase.

One of the best things about living in a really old french home – two fireplaces! One downstairs in the living room and this one in the bedroom upstairs 🙂

I’ve set up a little work station here looking out into our backyard.

I love waking up and looking out our bedroom windows to our backyard. There is TONS of greenery (I can’t wait for it all to grow even more lush later in the year!). We even have a few birds that come by and sing in the morning! It’s the best way to wake up 🙂

I’ve got most of my clothes folded in the wardrobes but I’ve selected a few pretty things to be displayed here on the rolling rack in our bedroom.

I don’t know if it comes across in the photo but this staircase is TINY! I’ve got two hands on the rail whenever I’m going up or down it.  It becomes even more difficult to navigate with a few glasses of wine as well 🙂
