Is your head spinning yet?!? Mine is. Yes, we moved, AGAIN!
Last week we again, purged all our belongings, sent 2 boxes of winter gear home to my mom’s house and packed up the rest of our stuff in 2 large suit cases and 2 carry ons. We were taking the train here so we could only take what we could carry because we had to get ourselves from platform to platform, from cab to cab – no one was helping – it was all up to our own muscles – haha!
But we are here!!! We made it to our new London flat!!! I can’t tell you how much better I feel being in a place that feels so much more familiar and to hear English around me! I didn’t even realize just how much that language barrier really effected me – I felt an instant relief as soon as we go into London. Don’t get me wrong, I loved our time in France but there is something so soothing about being in a town that feels like home and speaking your language 🙂
I was nearly jumping for joy when I saw Waitrose and and an M&S shop- haha! Oh how I missed those shops.
Since we have lived in London before, it really does feel like a second home to us. Vancouver is always our home base (that is where we both grew up) but London is definitely our second home.
However, we are in a totally different area of town than we usually hang around. When we last lived in London we were lucky enough to have an amazing flat in Notting Hill (you can watch the flat tour HERE). It really was a dream spot. 5 minutes from Portobello Road and steps from our favourite pubs and bakeries. We’ve even been told that Princess Diana was known to drive down our street to look at the architecture and beautiful flowers hanging from the windows on weekends.
How crazy is that?!? Just imagine looking out your window and seeing Princess Diana rolling down the street.

As much as we would have loved to live in the same area again (we would have taken the same flat if we could have!), it was just too far from where Ken is working for the summer. SO – we ended up a little farther east. It’s always good to explore new areas and not get too stuck in a rut.
I’m going to talk more about our new place in a later post 🙂
A few days into the move I got frustrated with adulting (haha!) and decided to head out to Oxford street to refresh my mind. I took myself to lunch and for a wander around Primark. I hadn’t been there in ages so I thought I’d give it a go. And I’m glad I did! It turned my frown upside down – that’s for sure. I scored this amazing jumpsuit for £13! I also bought a few other things for around the house so make sure to subscribe to my youtube channel – I’ll likely share those things over there 🙂
Stay tuned for more new flat posts – I have a few thoughts to share on it – let’s just say that 🙂
